| ABOUT ISLAND WEDDING FOTOS |
| So you’ve decided to break the mold by taking your wedding to an exotic Caribbean destination. You went the extra mile to get your grandparents to make it all the way to Puerto Rico in time for the ceremony. You want this occasion to be memorable for many years to come. Take a second here to contemplate one thing: What will last from your wedding after the ceremony is over, the expensive cake has been eaten and the memory of this day begins to fade? The pictures are the only thing that will outlast the wedding decorations. And if you went as far as the Caribbean for an unforgettable wedding, you need a professional behind the camera who can deliver the goods to match your creativity. You need an artist to document every unique smile, every tear, and that look of love in your eyes that will remain intact for generations to come. Think of the kind of wedding picture that you would like to leave for your children. My goal is to capture artistic photographs that reveal what your love and your relationship is all about. I want to tell the story of your wedding. Who you are, how you met and why you decided to join your lives. My photos and stories have the expression of art and the class of documentary journalism. I am talking about unique, funky, fun pictures that at the same time carry the authenticity of your wedding. Every special moment can be turned into art when a masterful photographer is behind the camera, capturing your surroundings. Island Wedding Fotos is all about unscripted, candid, fleeting moments. I AM a photojournalist. I don't offer a "photojournalistic style". Everything I do is real and unplanned. I don't interrupt history, we document it. I, Angel Valetín, am a Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist (Miami Herald Staff), and I am the owner and principal photographer for Island Wedding Fotos. I have over 20 years of experience and has photographed just about anybody and anything you can think of, among many others: two Superbowls, two World Series, Nelson Mandela, The Dalai Lama, Rosa Parks, Alex Haley, Fidel Castro, Lebron James, Shaquille O'Neal. I have travelled to cover stories and events in Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, Peru, Haiti and many other countries. Angel was a staff photographer for The Miami Herald (7 years) and The Sun-Sentinel (10 years). In 2008 I moved back to Puerto Rico and after a year managing a photo department of a local newspaper he started his freelance career. As an independent photographer Angel has signed up as a contractor with two agencies; Aurora Photos and Getty Images. Angel is also under contract for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean with The New York Times and The Miami Herald. My services could be as succinct as a few hours with one photographer and as comprehensive as a weekend with a team of photographers and a photo coordinator. I am equipped to handle a giant resort wedding, yet can also cater to more private ceremonies with a small group of guests. The mementos that you can extract from your wedding day are the legacy that you will leave for your family. They are the emotional treasures that will move you to laughter and tears over and over again. Invest in us and we will make moments that do not come back last a lifetime. I currently split my time between Puerto Rico and South Florida for weddings, editorial and commercial assignments. I am a member of: -Wedding Photojournalists Association -ASMP -National Press Photographers Association -Editorial Photographers |
